AN ANALYSIS OF THE CONFORMITY OF ENGLISH SUMMATIVE TESTS WITH SYLLABUS INDICATOR AT SMK NEGERI 2 SUNGAI PENUH

Each school is required to carry out an examination in order to conduct an assessment at the end of a certain period, including vocational high schools are required to carry out an exam at the end of the semester. The purpose of this research was to determine the suitability of the teacher's English test with the indicators in the syllabus. This research took even semester English test and English syllabus for class X, XI and XII SMK Negeri 2 Sungai Penuh. This research design is qualitative. The qualitative research design applied in this study is a decument analysis method that involves the English teacher in the classroom as an informant. While the instruments used by researcher to collect data were observation, interviews and documentation. The result of this research is that most of the English teachers made tests in even semester test were based on syllabus indicators. In this case, only one item of the test was not based on syllabus indicators, because in the syllabus giving and offering was only used for direction. Meanwhile, in this item giving and offering was used for suggestion. This is evidenced by only 1 question that does not match the indicator while the other questions are in accordance with the indicator, and it states that the English language exam questions for the even semester of SMK Negeri 2 Sungai Penuh have high validity. Thus it can be concluded that test is appropriateness with syllabus indicator.
